One of the original goals of CEN was to provide a means for interaction among people whose research or interests involved cellulose.   The Directory was created as a means for people to find others with similar interests or with particular expertise in their own country and throughout the world.

The Directory was initiated in 1996 and has been re-engineered after a period of unavailability.  The original data has been preserved.  The date each record was created and the date it was last updated are displayed in each full record.  Records which have not been updated recently may contain out-of-date information (see the section on "Joining/Updating the Directory" below).

Searches of the directory may be conducted based on personal information (name, country, organization type) or on areas of research interest (discipline, instrumentation, methodology).
